Sajógalgóc lies at the Northern part of the Putnok hills and on the left hand side of the Sajó. It was inhabited in the ages of the Arpads owned by the Rátót clan, later occupied by Hussite soldiers. The Hussites built their major fortification at the border of the village. Its foundations are still can be seen there. In 1756, a Baroque style mansion was built, which has been declared as a historic monument and worth visiting for tourists. |
