The craftsmen’s gallery Pont in Kõszeg was widened by a guesthouse. It’s in the same building that also stood there, when Miklós Jurisich and his brave soldiers fought against the Turkish in 1532.
From the window you can see the beautiful centre of the city, it’s historic buildings, the Hõsök - Tower, and the entrance of the castle.
The rooms are equipped with antique furniture, just like the city’s past and milieu is, but it also meets the modern claims.
There are also bio-beds with coco-latex mattress, which serve the guest’s relaxing and comfort. |

The Town Hall of Kőszeg is the oldest such building of today’s Hungary that has been functioning as a town hall from the 14th-15th centuries up to the present.
You can see on the frontage today three heraldic motifs and two figural frescos. The town council commissioned in 1712 a master from Sopron to paint the heraldic figures on the frontage of the Town Hall. The first coat-of-arms on the left hand side
is the baronial combined coat-of-arms of Miklós Jurisic. The second fresco shows the images of Patrona Hungariae or Hungary’s Our Lady with the child Jesus. The heraldic motif in the middle is Hungary’s historical small coat-of-arms with the Holy Crown above the shield. The fourth fresco portrays King Stephen I in full royal costumes. The third heraldic motif on the right is the town coat-of-arms of Kőszeg, granted in 1446 by Frederic III, King of the Holy Roman Empire.
