Izsófalva lies along the coast of the Szuha in the valley of the Ormos stream. First sources are from 1283. It was given its present name in 1950, when it assumed the name of Miklos Izsó the sculptor, the great son of the village. Also, the village’s great son is Gábor Szeremlei (1807 – 1867), who was a theologian, philosopher, teacher of Sárospatak and the writer of several books. The Miklós Izsó Memorial House has been demonstrating Miklós Izsó’s life and activity since 2001. |
